While cleaning out my file cabinet junk drawer, I came across the beginnings of stories started, lists of books, bookmarks, and scrap pieces of paper that had quotes written on them.

I thought it would be fun to share a couple of the quotes here.

The best time for planning a book is while you're doing dishes.
~ Agatha Christie

TV. If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they'll have with twenty-six. Open your child's imagination. Open a book.
~ Author unknown

No man can be called friendless who has God and the companionship of good books.
~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Do you have a quote you'd like to share?

These are great, Susanne. Earlier this week I looked up quotes about mothers. Here's one I especially like:
"Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever." Unknown

Thanks for sharing yours.

Great's a few more...

Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass. ~Anton Chekhov

Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to write "very;" your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be. ~Mark Twain

What I like in a good author is not what he says, but what he whispers. ~Logan Pearsall Smith, "All Trivia," Afterthoughts, 1931

Hi Greta, thanks for stopping by this morning and leaving a comment. Thanks for sharing the quotes. I'll have to add them to the other ones I've collected. Think I'm going to have to put them into a book or something instead of sticking them in a junk drawer.

Great quotes! Love the one by Agatha Christie!

Here's a quote that I heard earlier this year and really love:

“First you jump off the cliff, then you build the wings.” – Ray Bradbury

Also love the one that Greta quoted (I have it up on my bulletin board):

"Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass." ~Anton Chekhov

Wonderful quotes!

"The beautiful part of writing is that you don't have to get it right the first time, unlike, say, a brain surgeon. You can always do it better, find the exact word, the apt phrase, the leaping simile." Robert Cormier
