Thanks!

Gail at Write From the Soul and Visualeyes (http://writefromthesoulvisualeyes.blogspot.com/) ran a contest which I won. I was the winner of a Barnes and Noble gift card and a chocolate bar. My teenage son claimed the chocolate bar, which he shared with his dad. The gift card was all mine! I ordered three books, which are:

1. Great Little Last-Minute Editing Tips for Writers: The Ultimate Frugal Booklet for Avoiding Word Trippers and Crafting Gatekeeper-Perfect Copy by Carolyn Howard-Johnson

2. Great Lakes Rhythm and Rhyme by Denise Rodgers, Julie Martin (Illustrator)

3. Caves, Cannon, and Crinolines by Beverly Stowe McClure
These are all books that were on my long, long book wish list! Thanks Gail!

Stephen Tremp at Breakthrough Blogs gave me the Awesomous Maximus Award. Thanks Stephen!

Julie Dobbins                  Donna McDine                  Kathy Stemke
J. Aday Kennedy              Karen Cioffi

Hi Suzanne .. you can't leave us like this ... what books did you order? & well done on your awards ..

Sounds a good idea that the choccy bar went to your son .. and he was decent enough to share it with his Dad .. even if he'd whipped it from you in the first place! Kids .. but they're such fun ..

Enjoy the weekend .. Hilary

Hi Hilary, so sorry to have forgotten to say what books I ordered. The hard part was choosing which ones I wanted to get off of my long, long book wish list! I have updated my blog post to reflect the books I ordered.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Have a great day!

Wow, thanks so much Susanne; I'm honored. And, thanks for letting me know.

And, I agree, the books you chose to get are good ones!

I'll post this award on my site tomorrow or Sunday. Does it get forwarded 5 other writers?

Hi Karen, glad you like the award. Thanks for following my blog!

When I received the award, it didn't have a stipulation to pass it on, but I noticed that others who had received it had passed it on.

I received it from Stephen Tremp at Breakthrough Blogs.

Oh, nothing better than a gift card to a bookstore! That's my favorite present in the world.

Congrats on the award AND on winning the contest! Awesome.

Susanne Drazic said...

Hi Corey, gift cards to bookstores are the best gifts for writers and readers, in my opinion. You can never have too many books!

Hi Janet, thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend! : )

Congratulations on your win and on your award! Your first book is on my want list but I haven't heard of the other two.

Hi Jane, thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Denise Rodgers has another book out that my son got when he was in elementary school. It is called A Little Bit of Nonsense: A Wacky Poetry Collection. When I found out she had a book out about the Great Lakes, I had to have it!

Caves, Cannons, and Crinolines was just released June 15th. It's about a family's struggle to survive during the American Civil War. I can't wait to get started on it. My husband even plans on reading this book after I do!

Hi Susanne,
Nice Blog. Seriously. I've been doing some in depth research because I'm getting ready to take the plunge and come up with one for myself. I love your interesting listing of blog links and websites. You have a nice clean lay-out, easy to read and navigate. Like the fish tank too. I want one of those (smile). Susan Davis

Hi Susan, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Glad you like my blog. My first thought when I set it up was a newspaper. I wanted to be able to fill the whole screen with print. I've achieved that. I had considered changing the look of the blog when I noticed so many other blogs I'm following have changed their look, but decided to stay with what I have. Nothing else had the feel I was originally looking for.

I like the look and feel of it and I'm finding from comments that others like the look and feel of it too.

Have fun setting up your blog and let me know when it is ready for viewing so I can stop by to say hello!

Have a great day!
